Novato 1-Up-4 College - "Our Place" - Leadership and Resiliency
Starting with the self, kids will learn about who they are and their place in their family, community, and in the world. We will utilize many modalities including: visual arts, drama, poetry, journaling,
and mask making. Topics to include self-esteem, bullying, peer relationships, anger management,
and navigating the growing up process. The “Our Place” groups will be conducted by counselors at the Center.
Kim Buska, MFTI
Kim received her Masters in Family Therapy from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She has
a wide range of experience as a therapist working with adults, children, adolescents, families and groups. She was a school therapist at Hill Middle School last year and looks forward to continuing
her counseling work in the schools. Kim enjoys working with youth to help them through the innate challenges of growing up as well as their own unique process of growth and discovery.
Dora Ritzer, MFTT
Dora is a graduate student at California Institute of Integral Studies. In August she will have a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Expressive Arts. For the past year
she has been at the Novato Youth Center, working as a counselor at the clinic and at San Ramon Elementary School. Previously, Dora worked for the Children's Program at a shelter for survivors of domestic violence and homelessness in the East Bay.
